Cannabis

What is Cannabis?

Cannabis is a narcotic derived from hemp plants found in India, specifically Cannabis sativa and Cannabis indica. THC, or delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol, is the primary active ingredient in cannabis.

Cannabis is a substance that depresses. It’s not a given that depressant medications cause depression. Instead, they lessen the central nervous system’s activity and the body’s communication with the brain. Large cannabis doses have the potential to cause hallucinations as well.

What Does Cannabis Look Like?

The cannabis plant produces vivid green, uniquely shaped leaves with five or seven leaflets. A sticky resin covers the topmost leaves and flowering tips.

THC and other active components in cannabis are used for their psychoactive (mind- and mood-altering) effects. The ingredient in cannabis that gives you a “high” is called THC.

Psychoactive cannabis comes in three major forms: marijuana, hashish, and hash oil.

The most popular and least effective type of cannabis is marijuana. The plant’s dried leaves and blossoms are what makeup marijuana.

Dried cannabis resin, sometimes known as “hashish,” is typically in the shape of a tiny block. Hashish has a higher THC content than marijuana, which results in more potent effects.

Cannabis is used to make hash oil, a thick, greasy liquid that ranges in color from golden brown to black. The strongest strain of cannabis is hash oil.
